Hall’igators beat Hunters in battle of new teams

Halle, 8-10-2011: Halle had the honour to kick off the Belgian Cup 2011. The home team (Hall’igators) is a combination of Hall’igators and Braine Lions. They competed with Red Rhinos 2 in the latest League, but now they play as a team on their own. Their opponent was the other new team in the Cup: Heist Hunters, a team founded by former Red Rhino Erwin Van Veen.

Hall’igators have the more experienced players and could rely on their individual skills. It was Irish-born Gary Wall who openend the score and who lead the team, together with Belgian internationals Seb Herry and Vince Vanschoenbeek, to a fairly easy victory. Hunters managed to grab a goal in the last 5 minutes of the game, their first official goal ever, but it was Hall’igators who earned the first victory.
