Ghent, 25-08-2011: A lot of matches are planned to prepare for the highly anticipated Belgian Cup. Goblins and Hall’igators/Lions were the first to take on each other last night in Ghent. We saw a lot of key-players from last season as well as new faces on both sides. The atmosphere was great and everyone was highly motivated after a long month without lacrosse. Ghent Goblins started as the clear favourite, but it ended up being a good and tight match. The Hall’igators/Lions team put up a good fight and definitely had their chances. The experience of the Goblins made the difference in the end. They controlled the game and had some good combinations, with Belgian national team attacksmen Felix De Can and Dieter Van der Hallen finishing efficiently.
