Sunday the 11th of April, the two leaders of the DNLL3 division faced each other for the first time this year… At Tilburg, on their new artificial field, the Red Rhinos and Dodgers United will play each other for the leadership of the 3rd division. Not only the field was new, the Dodgers, a Alliance of Tilburg Titans and Domstad Devils played their first match in their special customised black jerseys.
So at 10h00 Tilburg time the game was started with only 11 Dodgers and 12 Rhinos, but with a lot of supporters of both teams. As from the start all supporters knew it would be a close game. The Rhinos showed their Coach and all supporters they are able to play good lacrosse without their more experienced players. The only thing they were missing was the final shot, someone who can score. The first quarter it was good organised lacrosse of the Rhinos. Only one little mistake they’ve made and this resulted in a 0-1 for the Dodgers. Eager as Rhinos are they tried to do anything to score the equalizer and everyone believed in it. With good scoring opportunities and some good defending the Rhinos maintained the score until the fourth quarter. After a good run, Mark scored the well deserved 1-1. Everyone on and around the field thought the Rhinos will walk over the Dodgers after this wonderful goal, but the Dodgers did the opposite. After a mistake from the Rhinos the dodgers scored the 1-2 with just under 2 minutes of playing time left. The Rhinos players lost their concentration and this resulted in another goal for the dodgers. This tied and good lacrosse game ended in a 1-3 loss for the Rhinos. Hopefully they’ll learn from this game and win next weeks against Den Haag again to stay second in the league and keep pressure on the Dodgers.
